The distance on Chicago's Michigan Avenue from the Chicago River to Oak Street is known as the "Magnificent Mile" or the "Mag Mile" for short mainly for the high-end shopping one can find. However, for the last 10 days or so, the "magnificence" has come from the beauty of the thousands of spring flowers in bloom. Let me show you although my photos don't begin to show the "magnificence" of the flowers.
The concrete median in the middle of the Avenue is abloom with lemon-yellow and plum-purple tulips...
Here's another view...aren't they just gorgeous!
Don't you just love the various pink colors of these tulips?
Then there are the brilliant orange-colored tulips with a border of purple pansies...
I love this other yellow/purple combination: yellow tulips with the purple hydrangea.
I love the colors of these tulips but honestly wish the landscapers would get rid of those Japanese maple trees and bushes...they just make it too sloppy.
Multi-colored blooms with color-matching hydrangeas...
This photo does not even give these flowers justice...
Not all the spectacular blooms are tulips...I love these masses of yellow daffodils surrounding the birch logs with a dash of red tulips for extra color.
I love the color of this single tulip...
These planters, just off Michigan Avenue, always have beautiful flowers in them...
OK...not all the spectacular blooms are on Michigan Avenue.
From AMA Plaza...
to Daley Plaza...
to Michigan Avenue, Chicago is the place to visit in the Spring.
Thank you for visiting.
